THAT WAS 2013 – PART 1
Things that don’t evolve, don’t survive.
This is true in so many walks for life, not just the animal kingdom. Just when you think you are comfortable with the way things are, something comes along to shake things up. And like the endangered species that was once roamed its domain in great, sweeping numbers only to diminish and dwindle, this podcast has gone from bombarding its listeners weekly to hardly being able to get an episode out. Life is changing; so is my life as a DJ.

Life is changing; so is my life as a DJ.
Back in around March of 2013, this podcast ventured into a
new phase – a second phase. Now, at the start of 2015, a third phase beckons. But first, it’s time to do my yearly review in its
traditional ‘That Was’ format for the very last time. That’s not to say I won’t
review the year in some form in the future but, like the weekly format of TPHP
itself, it feels like ‘That Was’ has run its own course.
Moreover, this will actually be a condensed or simplified
version of ‘That Was’. While the three 2 hour episode format will remain the
same as last year, the blog itself, overall, will be neatly reduced in size.
That’s not to suggest there is less to say (if anything there is even more to
reflect on), but time constraints require I be more concise. I thoroughly
enjoying doing these so I really I wish I had the more hours to pour into them.
And as it happens, this particular That Was will mark the
last time I ever write anything of note in this blog. The blog will remain
purely as a personal reference point on tracklists and as a home for my RSS
feed. For me, this brings the curtain down on well over a decade of forum
crusading, keyboard warrior conflict and verbose soap-box preaching in various incarnations and guises... (all of
course, on the web.)
